Agnes A. Colling, 92, of Huntley, died January 24, 2025 with her children at her bedside.
Agnes was born April 24, 1932, at home in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph and Stella Biesiadecki.
As a child, Agnes spent a lot of time at the local movie theater. It is there she emersed herself in all the movies made in the 30’s and 40’s and fell in love with Bette Davis.
Agnes went to Harrison High School in Chicago and was awarded a nursing scholarship, but it wasn’t until years later that she entered the medical profession as a CNA.
One of Agnes’s jobs after graduation was at Admiral television and that is where she met Floyd. In October of 1950 they went to a company party together and 4 months later they were married, very happily married until Floyd’s death in 1983.
Words to describe Agnes by anyone who knew her were positive, kind, compassionate and fun! Agnes never met a stranger.
Agnes was a fantastic cook, enjoyed sewing and had a tremendous love for animals.
She was so very proud of both of her children and was not only a mother but a best friend to Susan and Jim.
Agnes was a loving wife, mother, and friend to so many. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Colling and son, Jim Colling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd and her siblings, Loretta, Phyllis and Marvin.

Thoughts and prayers to your family.
Susan, Renee and I were blessed to have known your mother. What a sweet, sweet lady! We still talk occasionally about the wonderful day we all had taking her to Mt. Charleston. The most fun thing about that day was seeing her so excited and happy about our little adventure. May she rest in peace in the Lord Jesus Christ!
My thoughts go out to entirely Colling family. Agnes was more than just a patient to me. She was family. I was honored to be her dentist. We had many laughs during our time. She will be missed by my entire team. Rest in Peace Mrs Collins.

Susan and Jim, I am very sorry for your loss. I do understand that there is nothing like losing your mother. I pray for your peace as you walk through this difficult time. I also pray that you have opportunity to laugh, love, and smile as you remember her. I pray that, in time, the joy of memory eclipses the pain of the loss.

Well, Jim, Colling family, my heart goes out to you. I'm sure there are sweet memories and stories to tell. Please share as I have only recently come to know Jim. But if he is an indicator, mom was awesome. Tears, heart, and be as well as you can! Love, Bill Rough
Susan, I have fond memories of your Mom. Seeing her love for Bosco and Abbey comes to mind. I still think about the time the three of us went out to eat at Maxfield’s. Remember all those Happy Memories. You have my Deepest Sympathy during one of the hardest times in your life. God Bless You.

My deepest sympathy to Jim and Susan. Aunt Agnes was a wonderful woman.💔
Susan i am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing she was such a pleasure to be around and talk with. She loved you very much and surely appreciated everything you did for her. I didn't get much time to see or talk to her lately but I truly appreciate the times I did spend with her. I'm sorry I will not be able to attend her celebration of life but she is in my thoughts and prayers.

Agnes was the first neighbor we met when we moved here in 2023, and immediately bonded over our love of dogs. We are going to miss visiting with her as she sat on her patio enjoying the view on a sunny day, surrounded by her red mulch. Agnes never missed the chance to share how blessed she felt to have so much time with Susan, offer a restaurant recommendation, and talk about all their fun times together. Our condolences to the family and all who will miss her caring attention. We will miss her. May she rest in peace.
