George “Skip” Carroll, 78, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Skip is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Carroll, his daughters, Christy (Craig) Pfotenhauer and Tricia (Kevin) Sawyers, by his grandchildren, Michael, Kayla and Danny. He is also survived by his brother, John (Marti) Carroll.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents.
Skip was born on November 4, 1946, to George and Angie (DeGrado) Carroll. He served in the National Guard and married the love of his life, Karen L. Mennella, on November 18, 1967.
Skip had a warm and generous heart, always putting others before himself. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud papa who adored his grandchildren. His kindness and compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew him. A lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, he also had a passion for collecting sports cards.
Above all, Skip cherished his family. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a friend to all who were lucky enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a cancer charity of choice.
Skip will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Visitation at 9:00 am before mass. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 17, 2025, 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.

I send my love, great, big hugs, and my heart to Karen and her family. Skip was always such a friendly, wonderful man, and he became my go to for Baseball Cards, and he became like a fun chauffeur for Karen and I. He was so friendly, and always smiled! You will be missed by many many people. But always remember by all of those he knew I knew him.
