Brenda Joyce Hering, 92, of Huntley, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was born on April 11, 1932 in England to William Billings and Hilda (Oakes) Pond. She married Karel Hering in Norwich, England in 1951. The couple moved to the United States in 1952, and settled in Illinois. It was there they would raise their family and spend many happy years together before Karel’s passing.
Brenda was a talented knitter, often making beautiful gifts for friends and family. She was a great cook and passionate foodie. She started the family tradition of Sunday dinner, where she would make various Czech dishes and her famous Yorkshire pudding. She also had a flair for baking, and her loved ones looked forward to her Christmas cookies every year. She was an avid reader and animal lover, especially dogs. She loved travelling and regularly visited her family members in England. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Dana (Randall) Eulert, and Glenn (Wayne Wendell) Hering; her sisters, June and Linda; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Rocky) Chase, Karel (Crystal) Hering, and Gina Mazzone; and five great-grandchildren, Eliska, Dahlia, Silvana, Grayson, and Gianna.
In addition to her husband and parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, John, as well as more beloved dogs than we can count.
