Obituary

Raymond (Ray) Mario Cellucci, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, showing strength and resilience throughout.

Born on December 21, 1966 in Manhasset, New York, Ray was the son of Marilyn (Hebel) Cellucci and Raymond Mario Cellucci, Sr. On November 3, 2001, he married the love of his life, Jennifer Nancy Brink, at First Congregational Church in Des Plaines. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two wonderful sons, Daniel and Ryan.

Ray was a graduate of Lake Forest College, where he studied Business. His passion for learning led him to a successful career in Information Technology, where he was entirely self-taught. He had a deep love for technology and all things digital. Beyond his professional life, Ray was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to the Denver Broncos. He also had a passion for reading, cars, traveling, and - most importantly - spending cherished time with his family.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Jenny; his sons, Daniel and Ryan; his parents, Ray and Marilyn; his brother, Mike (Katy) Cellucci; and his sister, Allison (Brian) Elmore. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4 pm to 7 pm at DeFiore Funeral Home - 10763 Dundee Rd, Huntley, Illinois 60142. Jenny, Dan, and Ryan, my heart is with you. I can’t imagine the pain you’re feeling, but I hope you know how many people cared about Ray and how much we care about all of you. It’s hard to condense someone like Ray into one thought or idea. But I’ll always think about Celluci Theorem. It came out of the dinners at our house—Ray’s simple but memorable idea that when you combine two or more delicious things, the result is usually even better. It’s one of those small things he shared that stuck with all of us, and now, every time we talk about it, I’ll think of him. I’m really going to miss him.
