Bienvenido “ Ben” Manibog, 77 of Huntley died peacefully, October 30, 2013 at Journeycare Hospice in Barrington.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Monday at St. Mary Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Illinois.
Ben was born April 17, 1936 in Lallo, Philippines the son of Clementen and Loreto (Tapia) Manibog. He served in the United States Navy for six years during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He married Annette Junasa on May 18, 1962. He worked as a Civil Engineer until his retirement. He was a member of the Sun City Bowling , Bocci Ball, and Pickle Ball Clubs. He enjoyed being fit, especially biking and running. He enjoyed photographing his children and grandchildren. Ben was always young at heart.
He is survived by his wife, Annette, his sons, Ben A. (Joanie) Manibog, Michael A. Manibog, and Eric A. (Tricia) Manibog, his grandchildren, Ben A. Jr., Zachary, Derek, Matthew, Brayden and Mason. He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Aurora, Priscilla, Remedios “Remy” and by his brother, Vicente “Cen” and also by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard and by his brother, Orlando.
