Obituary

Susan Catherine Weiss, 76, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away on May 1, 2025.

She was born on December 23, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, to Stanley and Florence (Whitlock) Kowalczyk. In 2014, she moved from Carpentersville to Huntley where she would enjoy her golden years.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping and going to restaurants with friends. She loved animals, especially her cat Mimi. But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Shannon (Jim) Breon and Kristen (Donny Azarela) Weiss; her sister, Diane Bergman; and her grandchildren, Sarah Breon, Max Breon, and Daisy Azarela.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 4 pm-7 pm, with a Memorial Service 6:30pm, at DeFiore Funeral Home - 10763 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, Illinois 60142. Sue and I worked at MetLife together back in the 60's and have kept in touch over the years. I had a wonderful visit with Sue and her sister Diane a couple years ago. It was so much fun catching up with her and reminiscing about our years at Met. Sue brought pictures, which brought back many memories to both of us. I'll miss her notes at Christmas. Sue will be greatly missed! My heart goes out to her daughters and sister.
