John (Jack) Wilson passed away peacefully, Friday, June 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. John was born April 26,1939 in Chicago, the son of Harry and Anne Wilson. He was a devoted husband, cherished father, stepfather, grandfather, and proud Marine Veteran. Jack lived a life full of purpose, laughter, and love. He will be missed by all who knew him.
On March 27, 1999 he married Helen. He was the proud, loving father to his five children: Johnny Wilson, Kerry (Michael Bognar)Wilson, Neal (Rachel)Wilson, Brigid Wilson, and Barry Wilson. He was the proud grandfather to Caroline and Lucy Wilson, children of Neal and Rachel. He was the caring stepdad to Michelle (Scott) Barker and Becky (Jim) Johnson. He was the loving step-grandfather to Jackson, Andrew, and Tyler Barker, and, Maddie and Alec Johnson.
Jack will be remembered for his warmth, unwavering generosity, and genuine sense of humor.He brought light and comfort to everyone he met. A man of great dedication and drive, he rose to become a top-selling national sales manager, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues across the country. He was also an enthusiastic coach who believed in lifting others and helping them reach their full potential, whether on the field or in life.
A faithful fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, he seldom missed a game and passed on his love for sports and team spirit to those around him. He enjoyed a variety of music spanning many decades and genres. He also loved driving his Corvette with his beloved sidekick, Helen. It was his unwavering kindness, his selfless heart, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued that will be remembered most.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Johnny, and his Aunt Dorothy. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 21,2025 from 11am to 2pm with a prayer service and military honors at 2pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans or Northern Illinois Food Bank. Burial will be private.
