Carol H. Kesseler, 89, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025.
She was born on December 26, 1935 in Evanston, Illinois to Robert and Cecelia (Bernatz) Howarth. She married William J. Kesseler in Johnsburg, Illinois on September 19, 1964. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2020.
After moving from Arlington Heights, the couple made Huntley their home for over 20 years. When she wasn’t playing Ladies Bunco or swimming at the Aquatic Center in Del Webb, Carol and William enjoyed spending their summers at their lakeside cabin in Sarona, Wisconsin. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all her loved ones.
Carol is survived by her children, Kenneth A. (Judy) Kesseler, Kathe (Joel) Zimmerman, Stephen R. (Regina) Kesseler, and Gregory (Joyce) Kesseler; as well as her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Earhardt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4pm-7pm, with prayers at 6:30pm, at DeFiore Funeral Home – 10763 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, Illinois 60142. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church - 10307 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, Illinois 60142. Burial will immediately follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois.
