Richard M. Schuessler, “Richie,” 67, died peacefully on September 26, 2025, after a courageous fight with lung cancer.
Richie was born on April 4, 1958, the son of Richard Francis and Carol Joann. He attended Southern Florida University at Tampa and went on to work in sales for Stanley Tools and Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. Gifted with a mechanical mind, Richie could fix just about anything. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with those he loved. He will be remembered as a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Nolan; his siblings, Julie, Bill, Maria, and Gina; and his nieces, Jessica and Chelsea. He is also survived by a number of cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.

Carol,a job well done. Losing a child is of greatest pain. He loved you til the end. Letting go and letting him know it was ok. What greater love can a Mom give. My friend and Richie all I have is prayers. 🙏🙏
