Charles “Skip” L. Eikleberry, 80, of Algonquin, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Skip was born on March 7, 1945, the son of Charles and Mildred (Borchart) Eikleberry. He graduated from Cornell College, where he met the love of his life, Judy M. Redenbaugh. The couple married on June 10, 1967, and shared 58 wonderful years together.
Following college, Skip earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Northeast Missouri State College. He spent fifteen years teaching and coaching, leaving a lasting impact on his students and athletes. He later transitioned into the golf industry, a career that allowed him to combine his professional talents with his lifelong passion for sports. He was very honored to be recently inducted into the Dundee-Crown Athletic Hall of Fame
From a young age, Skip was deeply athletic and sports-minded, and he remained active and involved throughout his life. He had a gift for connecting with people—always kind, friendly, and genuinely interested in others. Above all, Skip loved spending time with his family. He cherished moments shared with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Skip is survived by his loving wife, Judy Eikleberry; his daughters, Erin Bendis (Jim Glockner), Kami (Mike) Wagner, and Brittany (Jon) Theobald; and his beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, Mason, Ryan, Emerson, and Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Chad Eikleberry.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a service at 4:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL.

Judy & family - So sorry to receive the news of Skip's passing. "You don’t move on after loss, but you must move with. You must shake hands with grief, welcome her in, for she lives with you now. Pull her a chair at the table and offer her comfort. She is not the monster you first thought her to be. She is love. And she will walk with you now, stay with you now, peacefully. If you let her. And on the days when your anger is high, remember why she came, remember who she represents. Remember. Grief came to you my friend because love came first. Love came first."
