Sandra K. Marsh

Obituary

August 14, 1946 – October 14, 2025
Sandra K. Marsh, 79, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 14, 1946, the daughter of Jack and Dorice Buckley, Sandra devoted her life to caring for others. On May 30, 1971, she married the love of her life, Rodger Marsh. She was a true jack of all trades from grocery store and bar owner to building management, hairdresser to working as a CNA, but favorite role of all was being a full time grandma. In each of these roles her compassion and kindness were able to touched countless lives.
Sandra cherished the sunshine and spent as much time as possible outdoors. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. Known for her thoughtfulness, she never missed a birthday or anniversary. Her daily calls- gentle, loving thoughtful-became a part of everyday life for the family. Each check in was a simple yet powerful reminder of how much she cared. Her constant presence was a source of comfort and a true reflection of how deeply she held her family in her heart. She took great pride in her appearance, always leaving the house looking her best, and enjoyed relaxing with a good crime show on television.
Sandra will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and proud great-grandmother whose warmth and love enriched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Rogette (Jose) Armijo; her grandchildren, Amanda, Vicky, Hannah, and Joey; her great-grandchildren, London and Austin; and her brothers, Michael and Marty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Rodger, her brothers Randy, Lloyd, and Scott, and her sister Jackie.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

I’m going to miss my grandma more than words can say. She was such a constant presence in my life—always comforting, always there. We talked every day, even if just for a few minutes, and those daily check-ins meant the world to me. Growing up, she was the heart of our family, caring for all of us grandchildren with so much love. She loved taking us on little adventures and spending quality time together—those memories will stay with me forever. I’m especially grateful that she got to spend time with her great-grandchildren. Watching her face light up when she saw them was pure joy—those moments brought her so much happiness. I’ll always miss her kindness, her unconditional love, and the pride she carried for each of us. She was truly one of a kind. Xo 💛

I had the good fortune to meet Sandy when she was a neighbor of my mother's at an elders' community in Huntley. She instantly treated me as a member of her family and opened her home and her wisdom to me, with no regard or expectation of anything in return. She was a bright star, and the world is darker for her passing. May her family find and share the peace she now enjoys.

Sandy was an amazing person. As long as I have known her, she always had a smile on her face. Always loved spending time with her grandkids and her daughter and son-in-law.. She would do anything for anybody. She was always there to lend a helping hand. I remember all the times when she lived at rogette's sitting in the backyard and just all of us hanging out. She was wonderful and she is going to be missed by anyone whose life she touched. Rest in peace, Sandy. You are now home with your other siblings and your parents
