Obituary

Scott Kevin Nepermann, 62, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Scott fought a courageous battle with glioblastoma, facing each day with strength.

Scott was born on May 30, 1963, in Elgin, Illinois, to Leo and Gladys (Zimmick) Nepermann. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1981 and spent the following years dairy farming. Scott moved on to driving a cement truck for Meyer and Prairie and eventually found his joy in metal recycling. He enjoyed being the life of the party and had a never-ending supply of jokes. Most of all, he enjoyed talking with his grandchildren and being an Opa.

Scott is survived by Joe (Colleen) Nepermann, Jim (Sara) Nepermann, and Jeff (Nicole) Nepermann, four beloved grandchildren (Matthew, Tyler, Luke, and Nora), his girlfriend, Laurie Siete, his siblings, Ruth Mau, Suz Hurley, Steve (Jan) Nepermann, Jerry (Gail) Nepermann, his Aunt Ruth Zimmick, and many nieces and nephews. Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Gladys Nepermann, his sister, Karen Lucich, and his Brother-In-Law, Len Hurley and niece, Carinzia Nepermann.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4-7pm with a service at 7pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, Scott would want you to be kind, do something nice for someone else and “pay it forward”.
The family of Scott would like to extend a special thank you to The Pearl of Elgin, the nurses, aides and staff went above and beyond a took great care of Scott and his family.

Scott was a very kind person. He would help anyone if he could. He loved comedy and made me laugh with his jokes. So sad,to young. RIP Scott!! I hope your in the after life with Rodney Dangerfield cracking jokes.

Scott always made work fun! He was the the best I ever saw at driving a ready mix truck.I gave him the mic once when we played music at the Dundee VFW. He was great telling jokes and doing his auctioneer spiel .Say hey to Miller and Howie Scott. Rest in peace man🙏🏼
