Richard Walter Swierski, 87, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 24, 1938, in Chicago, Richard was the son of Walter and Anne Swierski. He married the love of his life, Karen Jean Pocius, on April 4, 1964, and they shared 61 years of love and companionship. Richard was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He took great joy in spending time outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and many summers boating at Green Lake. His family also cherished the countless nature walks they took together, hunting for mushrooms and creating lifelong memories.
Richard is survived by his wife, Karen; his sons, Steven (Donna) Swierski and Michael Swierski; his grandchildren, Brooke and Paige Swierski; and his nieces, Michelle Wilson and Jennifer Pocs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Walter.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses can be said in Richard's name.

Karen and family so very sorry for your loss. I remember Rich always laughing and joking when I was young. He was always larger than life. May all your memories bring you comfort during this difficult time.
