April 7, 1950 - Oct 29, 2025
Sam passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. He leaves behind a life filled with family, friendship, hard work, and countless memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fran (Tazelaar), and their children James (Cherron), Sam (Sabina), Adam (Rebecca), and Ry, each of whom he was endlessly proud of. He was “Grandpa” to Noël, Calvin, Evan, Lucas, Caiden, Ava, Declan, and Weston, who were the light of his life.
Sam is also survived by his sisters Joyce Collins, Glenda Timkovich (Ron), and Karen Baute, as well as his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Hallye Page, and brothers-in-law Mike Collins and Frank Baute.
A retired carpenter and proud Army veteran, Sam was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and the quiet pride he took in his work. Outside of work, he was a lifelong racing fan who found joy and community at Route 66 Raceway, whether he was working, cheering from the stands, or just soaking in the noise and excitement of race day.
He’ll be remembered most for his sense of humor, his kindness, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about. His presence will be deeply missed, but the stories, laughter, and love he shared will live on through all who knew him.
A visitation will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 9am till the time of service at 11am all at Christ Community Church-2350 Pride Ave. DeKalb, IL 60115.
Internment will be on Friday, November 7, 2025 11am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W. Hoff Rd.
