Obituary

James J. Ennis, 75 of Sun City, Huntley passed away on Tuesday evening, December 10, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 26, 1938 in Bristol, Pennsylvania the son of David J. and Ruth (Wilson) Ennis. He was raised and educated in Bristol, attending St. Mark’s School and graduating from Marist Seminary in Langehorn, Pennsylvania. He was united in marriage to Catherine Bossler on August 26, 1961 and was drafted into the United States Army. Following his discharge, the couple made their home in Bristol and Jim worked as an accountant for Stauffer Chemical and later National Starch, his career would move the couple to Michigan and later Island Falls, Maine. He retired in 1999 and they moved to Illinois and to Huntley in 2003. He enjoyed singing in choirs, he was a member of the Rackham Choir, The Papal Choir in 1986 and was a member of the Prairie Voices, he enjoyed acting, and was a member of the Sun City Theatre Company. He was a 4th Degree Knight and he and his wife enjoyed ballroom dancing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine of Huntley, his devoted children, Michael (Nancy) Ennis Of Madison Heights, Michigan, Mary (Michael) Fisher of Crystal Lake, his precious grandchildren, Allison, Leah,Emma & Lauryn and his cousin, Alfred (Dot) Eastlack of Florida. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Bristol, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JourneyCare Foundation, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010 or Family Alliance, 2028 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098.
