Ronald “Ron” Hammond, 63, of Carpentersville, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, following an eight-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Ron was born on November 26, 1962, in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Doyle and Carolyn Hammond. On December 29, 1995, he married Barbara J. Kohout, with whom he shared a life filled with love, family, and dedication. Ron owned and operated his own lawn care service for many years, working hard until his retirement.
An avid deer hunter, fisherman, and true outdoorsman, Ron had a deep passion for nature and all things outdoors. He cherished time spent with his family at Lake Carroll and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all, Ron was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose kindness and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Hammond; his daughters, Katherine Hammond, Julia Hammond, and Faith Gonzalez; his mother, Carolyn Hammond; his sister, Beth (Robert) Klemm; and his lifelong friend, Kevin Duray. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Hammond, and brother, Keith Hammond
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 12:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Memorials may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
