Patricia R. Thomas
January 19, 1934 – February 18, 2026
Patricia R. Thomas, 92, of Elgin and formerly from Medinah and Huntley, died peacefully on February 18, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Patricia was born on January 19, 1934, the daughter of Edward and Jennie Majeski. On October 23, 1954, she married the love of her life, George Thomas, beginning a devoted marriage grounded in faith, love, and family.
Patricia lived her life with a true zest for living. Her faith and her family were her whole world. She shared a special and inseparable bond with her sister, Joan. Together they were affectionately known as the “Dolly Sisters.” No matter what was happening in their lives, Fridays were reserved for their standing hair appointments—having their hair done was simply a must.
Patricia kept her finger on the pulse of her family at all times. She always wanted to know what everyone was doing, and though she was known to worry about everything and nothing, her worry was simply her way of loving and protecting those she cherished most. Her family always knew they were deeply cared for.
She was an avid and competitive Rummikub player, enjoyed playing cards with her lifelong high school friends, and consistently taught her children and grandchildren the importance of kindness. That she passed on Ash Wednesday was a meaningful reflection of her deep and abiding faith.
Patricia is survived by her six children: Susan (Dale) Gregory, Steven (Jeanne) Thomas, Patrick (Alice) Thomas, Michael (Joanne) Thomas, Danny (Cindy) Thomas, and Karen (Jake) Ciesielczyk; her 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Thomas, her sister Joan and brother in law Robert.
