Dennis Christopher Staron, age 79, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away on February 28,
2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 5, 1946, to John Staron and Adeline (Bartoszewski) Staron.
In 1970, he married the love of his life, Margaret (Condon) Staron. They grew up together and shared a bond that lasted a lifetime. Side by side, they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. They supported each other through everything, helping their loved ones and finding joy in creating homes and gardens full of care and beauty. Their teamwork and creativity touched everyone around them, making life brighter for family and friends.
Dennis loved tending his garden and growing orchids, spending time outdoors, fishing, and sharing his dad jokes. A skilled builder and fixer, he spent countless hours working on the homes his family lived in and helping others with his time and talents. Humble, kind, and soft-spoken, he gave freely and never expected recognition.
Family was everything to Dennis. He coached his children’s teams, made pancakes for breakfast, and delighted in taking his grandchildren, Jackson and Lila Owen, on adventures to Michigan and Disney World. He loved pointing out the schools and buildings he helped build while driving with his kids, sharing a small piece of pride and humor along the way. Those who knew him remember the sparkle in his eyes, his patient, gentle, and easygoing spirit, and the countless ways he offered love, generosity, and support to everyone in his life.
Dennis worked for 40 years at Gunderson Construction, where he was respected, well liked, and trusted. He was also a lifetime member of Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150. Earlier in life, he served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; his children, Angela Staron (Dan Deeb) and Daniel Staron; his grandchildren, Jackson and Lila Owen; his step-siblings, Ron (Janice) Staron, Doug (Holly) Staron, Kathleen (Mike) Keegan, Kim (Ed) Pike, and Randy (Sue) Staron; his sisters-in-law, Corinne Condon, Sue Wolf (Larry), Elizabeth Delgado (Ivan), and Jan Pinto (Tony); his brothers-in-law, Tom Condon (Carolle), Jake Condon (Kym), and Jim Condon (Diane); and his nieces, nephews, and cousins who were dear to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Staron and Adeline (Bartoszewski) Staron; his stepmother, Edith (Gostomski) Staron; his step-siblings, Karen, Sharon, and Jeff Staron; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Condon and Patricia Condon.
