Obituary

Patricia Ruth Binder Marano, 91, of Elgin, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Patricia was born October 12, 1934, in Chicago, the daughter of Earl and Ruth Binder. On May 11, 1957, she married the love of her life, Angelo Marano.
Patricia was the ultimate homemaker and devoted her life to caring for others. She was an amazing cook and baker who brought joy to family gatherings with her delicious meals and treats. She also had a special talent for decorating and took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. Above all, Patricia cherished time spent with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were truly her pride and joy.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Ted) Marano, Son-In-law Tim, David (Kathy) Marano, Lynette (Jeff) Truax, and Paul (Ada) Marano; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by her siblings, Jimmy, Denny, and Peggy.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of52 years, Angelo, her daughter Gina and her sisters, Erlene and Donna.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m, with a prayer service at 12:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Thomas More Church in Elgin.
