Obituary

Arthur L. Schultz, 83, passed away on March 15, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 20, 1942, in Chicago, the son of Arthur W. and Virginia Schultz.

Arthur graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1960. He proudly served his country from 1961-1965 in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed across numerous Asia-Pacific bases. After serving, Arthur was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Local 705 for over 40 years. He married the love of his life, Joann Grzech in Chicago on his birthday, March 20, 1971.

Arthur and Joann enjoyed vacationing across the U.S.. He also enjoyed owning and restoring antique cars, watching a good Western movie, collecting keychains, Harley-Davidson t-shirts, or listening to the Rolling Stones. As a devoted husband, father and "pappy", there was nothing more important to him than spending time with his family.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Joann Schultz; children, Tony (Eileen) Schultz and Duke Schultz; grandchildren, Nathan and Madilyn; son-in-law, Jeff Jayko; and sister, Sue Lopez.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Tracy Jayko.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m, at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Catholic Mass will be held at 1:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd, Huntley, IL. Entombment will follow at Mary Hill Cemetery in Niles, IL.
