Captain Lee Moseley
July 12, 1966—April 8, 2026
Lee was born in Shreveport, LA, to his parents, Donald Moseley, DDS and Patricia L. Moseley. They made their home in Ringgold, LA, and spent many summers in Hayward, WI, where his mother was from. Lee learned to love Wisconsin as a second home.
Lee graduated from Louisiana Tech University, earning a degree in professional aviation. Lee began a very long, successful career in aviation with various airlines. He was highly experienced in regional jet aircraft and at least once was recognized for avoiding a mid-air collision with another errant aircraft. He was very conscientious about getting his passengers safely to their destination, and he never failed to do so.
Lee is survived by his brother, Donald Moseley, Jr. (Tammy) of Temple, TX, and three sons—Dayton, Noland, and Lincoln Moseley, of the St. Louis area. Lee is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, and four great-nephews. Lee’s extended network of family and friends extends throughout the heartland of America—mostly in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Lee was part of the “River Boys,” a group of men his age who would camp on the edge of Arkansas Buffalo River each year. They have stood by Lee throughout life’s celebrations and trials.
Lee had a quick and infectious wit, high energy, and made friends easily. To say he was mischievous from time to time may be putting it lightly. Lee enjoyed model-making, woodworking, fishing, and gardening.
In 2024, Lee received a diagnosis of an aggressive cancer. He began bravely fighting the disease. Shortly, thereafter, his longtime friend, Vicki from Illinois, came to help Lee. Vicki stood by him through good and bad days, and our family can never thank her enough for her love and sacrifices.
In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made in Lee’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html

I’m so saddened at the loss of such a great friend. Lee and his family were like my second family for many years. I miss the days of woodworking, outdoor fun, and just plain hanging out. I pray you have clear skies and favorable winds evermore.
I met Lee several times as he was a friend of my son Chris. A tragic loss for all concerned and prayers are for his family.

Lee, I will never forget your calm and collected demeanor when we were working together. All stress seemed to leave the room when you entered.

Blue skies and tail wins Captain Moseley!
Lee, it was an honor to be your friend. You were part of an aviation family with hundreds of brothers and sisters. You will be missed my friend.
Our family knew the Mosley’s from vacationing in Hayward Wisconsin. I have great memories of Donny and Lee and the time we spent on Round Lake. I am saddened to hear of Lee’s passing. He is in our prayers along with Donny and all the family. His infectious laugh was memorable.
It’s been an honor to call Lee a friend. We go back 45 yrs in Hayward, WI where we became the best of friends. Waterskiing, sailing, scuba diving, fishing, and playing golf. As adults we shared a love of flying. Tailwinds and blue skies…fly high brother. Love you
