Kathleen “Kathy” Lansford, 81, of Woodstock, died peacefully on April 11, 2026, with her family by her side.
Kathleen was born February 24, 1945, in Chicago, the daughter of Sam and Catherine (Keane) Asta. On October 19, 1963, she married the love of her life, Thomas F. Lansford. Kathy worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse and dedicated herself to caring for others both professionally and personally.
Kathy was an avid bird watcher and a wonderful cook. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite place to be was the family lake house in Hancock, Wisconsin, where many treasured memories were made. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Tom; her children, Laura (Duane) Roehrig, Tom Lansford, and Chris (John) Anderson; her grandchildren, Dan, Nicole, Megan, Scott, Michael, Tim, and Elona; and her six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Sam ( Sue) Asta, Debi (Tom) Quinlan, Liz (Jack) Schwertfeger, Brian Asta, and Bill (Leslie) Asta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Tom; and her brother, Larry Asta.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the MS Foundation.
