Elaine Harriet Wirth, 104, died peacefully March 8, 2026 with her family by her side.
Elaine was born August 28, 1921 the daughter of Joseph G. and Rose Rygielski. On October 2, 1940 she married Joseph G. Wirth. Together the couple had a beautiful life, retiring to Florida and enjoying many years there together. Elaine was the ultimate homemaker caring for her family. She was always very artistic and enjoyed drawing and painting. Her faith and her family were at her hearts core. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Fr. Geoffrey D. Wirth, and James A. (Bonnie) Wirth, by her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Christine), Julie Ann, and Daniel, by her 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wirth, and by her siblings.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 19 2026 from 9am until the time of Mass at 10am all at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church-451 W. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial will be at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
