John Alek, 79, of Pingree Grove, died April 16, 2026.
John was born on December 11, 1946 in Chicago, the son of John and Marie Alek. On October 10, 1970 he married Lynn S. Kanter. He worked in railroad industry until his retirement. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, his children, Laura (John Pat) Cloughley, David Alek, Kristina (Joseph) Milazzo and Kevin (Jessica) Alek, he is also survived by his grandchildren, Julian, Adrian, Amaya, Jameson, Andrew and John.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 25, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
