Caden J. Palka, 21, of Algonquin, died April 21, 2026.
Caden was born August 3, 2004, the son of Kim A. Palka and Joseph James Palka. He graduated from Huntley High School and was currently working as an apprentice/operator in construction. He was also studying to become a pilot.
Caden had a smile that could light up a room and was always happy and upbeat. He loved dirt biking and gaming and brought energy and joy wherever he went. He was an amazing son, brother, nephew, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Gromada Palka, and his father, Joseph Palka; his siblings, Alyssa and Rylee; his grandmother, Carlyn Palka; his grandfather, Peter (Anita) Gromada; his grandmother Connie Gromada and his aunt Catherine Cortopassi , his uncle, Brian(Tracy) Palka; and many cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his sister Courtney and Grandpa Joe Palka
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Though his time with us was far too short, Caden’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him, and his spirit will forever ride free and soar above.

Caden and I grew up together and crossed paths often over the years. He was a good guy and will be genuinely missed. My thoughts are with his family during this time.
My sincere condolences to your family. Caden worked at MDO welding and Fabrication with me. What a vibrate light he had. He was always such a pleasure to talk to he had so much enthusiasm for everything he did. We talked often about his love of flying . I sure he has his wings now. May God bless you and keep you.
