Slawomir W. Lesniak, 48, of Huntley, passed away peacefully at his home on April 25, 2026.
Slawomir was born August 21, 1978, in Poland, the son of Jan and Janina Lesniak. In 2004, he married the love of his life, Monika I. Podgorska. Slawomir was known for his warm smile, outgoing personality, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone he met. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, fishing, and spending time in nature. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, loving son, brother, and loyal friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Slawomir was a huge soccer fan and enjoyed watching his son play soccer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2026, 11:30am at St. Margaret Mary Church 111 S. Hubbard in Algonquin.
Slawomir is survived by his beloved wife, Monika Lesniak; his cherished children, Julia and Karol Lesniak; his sisters, Edyta (Marek) and Dorota (Darek); and his nieces, Joanna, Anna, and Zuzanna. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Our condolences to Mr. Lezniak’s family. The time we knew him, he was a very friendly person. I wish we had more time to get to know each other, but I know God has a plan for everyone.
