Mary Ann Gorog died peacefully with her family by her side at Aperion Health Care in Elgin on May 1, 2026, Prior to her admission there she resided in Algonquin, IL for years. Mary Ann was born December 28, 1938 in Chicago to Adolph and Lillian Pinter ( nee Petters). Mary Ann was the Executive Assistant to Kirk Homes and Kirk Builders for over 10 years. She faithfully attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Gilberts after moving out from the Schaumburg area. Some of her involvements there and her active ministries that she participated in were VBS School volunteer, Bible studies, and activities, assistant at worship and sharing in the mission of proclaiming the love of Christ through the church. Prior to her membership with the Gilbert's St. Peter's her and her husband were very active with St. Peter's in Schaumburg, Il for over 15 years. There she was involved and served with the choir, youth group, VBS, studies and other Sunday school activities, as well as the helping hands ministries, which enjoyed so much. She was a support and encouragement to her late husband with the cemetery ministry as he was the Sexton of the church cemetery.
A Memorial visitation will be held May 8th, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The Funeral Service will be Saturday the next day, May 9th, 11 am, St. Peter's Lutheran Church 18N377 Galligan Rd. Dundee Township.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her late husband Stephen Gorog who died in 2018, and her parents the late Adolph and Lillian Pinter. Her loving children and family include her sons, Chris ( Connie ) Gorog, Dan (Paula) Gorog, and loving daughter Wendy (Keith) Gorog. Adored grandchildren Mike, Daniel, Becca, and Alex, and special great grandchild Jackson all will miss her presence.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church - in Gilberts, 18 N 377 Galligan Rd. Dundee Township, Il 60118- where she faithfully served and enjoyed spending her time and serving the faithful and encouraging her friends.
