Obituary

Marlene R. Sawicki age 88, died May 6th at Northwestern Hospital Huntley. Marlene lived in Huntley with her husband William B. Sawicki, they were married at Holy Trinity Parish in Chicago February 1, 1958. Prior to moving to Huntley they lived in the Norwood Park neighborhood for over 51 years. She worked at Carson's Furniture at Harlem and Irving plaza for over 10 years. Starting there selling clocks, lamps and accessories it evolved into her involvement with retail furniture sales, where she was awarded many achievements and successes with Carson's. She was very fun-loving, supporting and encouraging to those who knew her and her family will always remember her kind understanding nature that made her so special with all of those she encountered. Marlene and William were members of St. Mary Church in Huntley since their move to Del Webb in 2011. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband William B. Sawicki. Her adored children Susan (John) Leski, Katherine (Ted) Yauch, and the late Pamela (Eric) Beninati. Dear grandchildren Jennifer, Elizabeth, Nicole, Amy, Jessica, Nicholas, Alexis, and Ethan. Dearest great grandchildren Jordan, Joey, Noah, Kaylee Aiden, Aalyiah, Elliana, Jaxon, Adeline, Riley, Olivia, and Gabriella.
Marlene's siblings include Maryann (the late Don) Kriss, the late Edward (Leona) Miller, and the late Delores, (Ben) Gardner. She was preceded in death by her parents the late Walter and Adeline (Blachut) Miller. Visitation will be Monday May 11th, 4-7 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home and Cremation Services Huntley, IL. A second visitation will follow Tuesday 9- 9:45 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church Huntley, with Mass at 10 a.m. The Interment will follow Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery Palatine.
