Obituary

Lois A. Foy, 68, of Marengo, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Lois was born on January 26, 1958, the daughter of Edward and Helen Devitt. On May 7, 1977, she married the love of her life, James T. Foy, Sr. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and happiness.
Lois was always active and enjoyed roller skating, biking, walking, and horseback riding. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and was an amazing grandma who brought joy and warmth to their lives. Lois had a positive outlook on life, and her motto was simply, “Be happy.” Her kindness, loving spirit, and devotion to her family made her a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Special thanks to Holly and Sara for their loving care for Lois. A special mention to her morning " walking partner" Joyce. Special four legged companion Samson, will also miss her !
She is survived by her beloved husband, James; her children, Jennifer (Val) Bocaniciu, James Foy, Jr. (JoAnne) Foy, and Christopher (Meghan) Foy; her five grandchildren, Brooke, Brett, Lydia, Jolie, and Maeve; her siblings, Ron (Barbara) Devitt, Helen (Dale) Wheeler and sister-in-law Jackie Devitt; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joey Devitt, Edward Devitt, Pat Devitt, John Devitt and Bobby Devitt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., with a short prayer service at 5:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home.
