Leo Deubel, 85, of Union, Illinois, passed away on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born in Unterwittighausen, Germany, to his parents Karl Deubel and Rosa Deubel (Koerner) Leo was the second eldest of 9 siblings. He dedicated his life to providing for his family and helping friends and neighbors.
Leo’s talents extended beyond his work bench. He loved the outdoors and tinkering on projects. His sense of humor was one of a kind and he loved to play pranks. His generosity knew no limits and he never hesitated to help.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ria Deubel (Wegert); his daughters, Nancy McDonald (Deubel), Linda Deubel, and Kerstin Deubel; his grandchildren, Danielle McDonald and Corey McDonald. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 5 siblings.
A visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. to 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntley, Illinois. He will be laid to rest on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Assumption Cemetery and Mausoleum.
