
Fred was born December 25, 1937 the son of Fred and Esther (Radtke) Drehobl. He worked for Western Electric as an engineer until his retirement. He began a second career as an entertainer doing comedy magic. He enjoyed making people smile and laugh, and literally was the guy who could pull a rabbit out of a hat. He was very involved with the magic community. He was the “Keeper” of the Knights of Sleights Magic Fraternity and later became Dean Emeritus. Fred was also equally passionate about his life long hobby of model building. He was a member of the International Plastic Modelers Society and won many awards in various competitions.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Linda Drehobl, of 33 years; daughter, Debi (Keith) Bowers; son, Freddie (Dawn) Drehobl; grandchildren, Ashley, Rachael, Raquel and Trey; great grandchildren, Greyson, Valerie, Ezra, and Eliza; brother, Tom (Mary) Drehobl. Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Schultz) who died in 1991.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm at Springbrook Church, located at 10115 Algonquin Road, Huntley.

So sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. He was a close friend, and fellow entertainer. I remember many of our dinners, outings and magic shows together. I’m keeping Linda and his family in my prayers.
