Obituary

Angela J. Gordon, 57, of Marengo, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Angela was born on September 4, 1968, the daughter of Steven and Sharon Mabie.

Angela was full of life and always took charge with confidence and determination. Organized and capable, she had a remarkable ability to accomplish anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed staying active and participated in many 5K races throughout the years.

Known as the glue that held her family together, Angela's love and devotion to those closest to her were unmatched. She cherished spending time outdoors, whether boating, fishing, tending to her yard, or relaxing by her pool. She was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, and was a devoted Harry Potter fan. Angela was also an amazing dog mom who adored her four-legged companions.

Above all, Angela's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife and married the love of her life Chris Gordon. She was also a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Angela is survived by her husband, Chris Gordon; her children, Justin Sowers (Taylor Pinter), Christopher Phillips, and Kylie “Jack” Gordon; her beloved granddaughter, Hazel; her stepfather, Ron Davidson; her sister, Veronica Dietzig (Cordel); and Terri Mabie (wife of Steven) and also her in-laws, Ron and Bonnie Jones.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Davidson, and her father, Steven Mabie.

A Celebration of Life honoring Angela's life will be held on August 29 from 12pm - 3pm at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley .

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Angela's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.

Critter- Rest in peace, my sister it wasn't supposed to be like this. I always looked up to you for questions and answers. Go find Mom go Thrift and take her drifting for me. I know you don't like it. I love you. You'll always be in my heart. I'll watch out for your family as long as I can. Love you varmit!
