Donn B. Stansbury, 86, of Huntley, Illinois, formerly of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Monday, January 27, 2014.
He was born January 23, 1928 to B.B. and Vera (Ogden) Stansbury. He had served in the United States Navy during WWII. Donn was an educator in Iowa and Illinois for 36 years, retiring as Vice President of Harper College in Palatine, Illinois.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Delores of Huntley, his daughters, Monica (Jim) Gale of Vancouver, Washington, Mary (Mike) Paul of DeForest, Wisconsin, his sons, Dean (Rita) Stansbury of Keokuk, Iowa, Mark (Jenny) Stansbury of Laramie, Wyoming, his grandchildren, Sarah, Sam, Hannah, Arlo, Chris, Kelly, Michelle, Jamie, Troy & Jimmy, 12 great-grandchildren, his brother, Duane (Alberta) Stansbury of Nevada, Iowa, his cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31st at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Interment will be at a later date in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntley or the American Cancer Society.
