Obituary

Oliver Guevarra, 65, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, with his beloved wife by his side.
Oliver was born on March 10, 1961, in Baguio, Philippines, the son of Dominador and Luningning Guevarra. At the age of 6 he came to the United States and became a citizen 7 years later. He dedicated more than 30 years of his career to the field of Information Technology, where he was respected for his professionalism, hard work, and dedication.
On April 20, 2024, Oliver officially married the love of his life, Madonna Breck, though the two had shared more than 35 years of love, companionship, and devotion together. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their deep bond and commitment to one another.
Oliver was a kind, hardworking man and, above all, simply a good guy. He had a passion for photography and loved spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed hiking, theater, the Beatles and cheering on his favorite Formula 1 and Indy racing teams. A devoted husband, brother, and friend, Oliver touched the lives of many through his gentle spirit, loyalty, and warm heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Madonna Breck; his brothers, Ron Guevarra and Ferd (Marilyn) Guevarra; several nieces and nephews and his brother-in-law, Steven (Linda) Breck.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, Dominador and Luningning Guevarra, and by his sister in infancy, Maria Belinda Christina Guevarra.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. A luncheon will be served after Mass in the Parish Hall.
Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
