
David Melvin "Dave" Langlands, 83, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2026.
He was born in Chicago on November 19, 1942, the loving son of David F. and Eleanor (nee Bjorgan) Langlands.
After graduating from Austin High School in Chicago, Dave attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (Navy Pier), and he served as a Sergeant in the Illinois Army National Guard.
Dave had an accomplished career as an Industrial Design Engineer for several electronics firms, including Admiral and Zenith Electronics. He was a passionate tinkerer with all things electronic and mechanical. With his great sense of humor and quick wit, he brought joy, a caring heart, and a warm smile to his family and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Sharla Rae Linkowski, and his cherished brother-in-law, Charles Linkowski.
He is survived by his devoted significant other of 33 years, Karen Gentile; his son, David Langlands; his grandchildren, Katherine and Connor Langlands; his nephews, Charles and Michael Linkowski; his niece, Sheri (Dan) McGovern; and Karen's brother, Ralph Gentile, his wife, Ronnie, and their children, Payton and Vinnie.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 4-7pm with prayers at 7pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL
