In Loving Memory
At the age of 80, Alfred Joseph White—known lovingly as "Al," "Fred," and "Freddy"—passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and cherished memories.
Alfred was born on October 2, 1945, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to Alfred and Peggy (née Proctor) White.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Alfred served his country with honor before building a long and respected 37-year career as a civil engineer with Signode/ITW. He approached both his work and his life with humility, integrity, and a steady hand.
Though a man of few words, he had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor that brought smiles to those who knew him best. He also expressed his love through food, and his family will forever remember the delicious meals he prepared and the joy of gathering around his table.
Alfred was the devoted husband of nearly 56 years to the love of his life, Cheryl; a proud father to his son, Jeffrey; a cherished father-in-law to Beata; and a loving Paw Paw to his two granddaughters, Ava and Elle, who brought him immeasurable joy. He was also a caring brother to Marsha Hrach; a beloved brother-in-law to Julie Kalloway and Lori Sands; and a treasured uncle, cousin to many in Louisiana, and friend whose quiet presence touched countless lives.
Above all, Alfred will be remembered for his service, his integrity, his steadfast love for his family, and the example he set through a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
His legacy of service, hard work, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks to honor the remarkable man he was.

My thoughts and prayers are with our Cousin Freddy’s family. My dad, Jerry and Freddy were pretty close in age, and I remember the summers when y’all would come down to visit Louisiana! We looked forward to those visits. Great memories. Love and hugs, Tiffanie 🙏🏻❤️
This is a well written perfect description of Freddy. I will always remember and cherish times spent with him, his quiet big presence was unique and so special. It is true, his sense of humor was so cute! One Easter he told us a joke about a canary that I still laugh about! Freddy will be missed, what a gift he was to all of us here in South Louisiana. Cheryl, Jeff, Beata and the girls will have all those wonderful memories to console their hearts. Our prayers and sympathies are with you all. May God Bless Freddy oh so well!!
My heart goes out to all in Fred's family. He has joined my Rick and also Walter Traxinger, 3/4 of the "Signode Group" who met in 1970. We gathered regularly no matter where the husbands worked. It was the best of times and I will miss his quiet, sly sense of humor. 💔
