
Ronald Edward Marrs, 75, of Huntley, passed away on July 28, 2026 with his family by his side. Ron was born October 3, 1950 in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of Frederick and Lora (Byers) Marrs.
Ron grew up in Crete, IL, and attended local schools. He met the love of his life, Pamela Devine, while attending Crete-Monee High School. After high school Ron joined the United States Navy where he earned an honorable discharge. On May 22, 1971 Ron and Pam were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crete, where they were devoted members for 22 years. They raised their children in Crete and in 1993 they moved to Crystal Lake, IL, and became members of Lord and Savior Lutheran Church. After retirement, they moved to Del Webb’s Sun City in Huntley, IL.
After Ron served in the Navy, he pursued a career in banking starting as head teller through various positions until retiring as the Controller of NorthSide Community Bank in Gurnee.
Ron enjoyed woodworking and fishing as hobbies. As a devoted man of faith, he was always there to volunteer his time with his church for anything needed. He served as the Treasurer for many years at Lord and Savior Lutheran Church. He also served on the Finance Committee for Del Webb’s Sun City Board of Directors.
Ron is survived by his wife Pam Marrs; children, Christopher (Kelly) Marrs, Brian (Stella) Marrs, and Tracy (Chad) Smith; grandchildren, Lea, Tyler, Nolan (Hannah), Brandon, Jered, Gavin, Lexi, Jacob, Grant, Madelyn, and Adam; brother Richard (Pat) Marrs; sisters-in-laws, Deborah Lyons, Beth (Norm) Seeman; and brother-in-law Bill (Janet) Devine.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Lora Marrs; brother, Robert (Deborah) Marrs; father and mother-in-law, Leroy and Natalie Devine; and son-in-law, Brett Knabel.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm at Defiore Funeral and Cremation Service located at 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL 60142.
A second visitation will be Monday, August 3, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Lord and Savior Lutheran Church located at 9300 Ridgefield Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60012. The committal will be at Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery located at 8012 Ridgefield Road in Crystal Lake, IL. Afterwards, everyone is invited to a luncheon back at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lord and Savior Lutheran Church.

I am so sorry! I along with my siblings grew up with Ron and his family. There were lots of memories made all those years ago. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
