Obituary

In Loving Memory of Julia Ann McGinley

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Julia Ann McGinley, who passed away in 2026 at the age of 85.

Julia was born in 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, to Gino and Mary Nicolini. She later made her home in Algonquin, Illinois, where she built a life centered on family, love, and lasting memories.

Julia was the beloved wife of Bernie McGinley, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they created countless cherished memories, especially during their favorite trips to Walt Disney World and Las Vegas. Whether it was a family vacation or a quiet moment together, Julia treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by the people she loved most.

She was a devoted mother to Gina Sevey (Lew), Marty McGinley (Katie), Steve McGinley (Dawn), and David McGinley (Cristina). Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she took immense pride in watching it grow through each generation.

Julia was a loving grandmother to Meghan (Will), Courtney (Greg), Kelsey (Nate), Chad, Rachel (David), Francesca, Jenna, Hannah, Brian, and Mary, and a proud great-grandmother to Kenzie, Harper, Grayson, Ava, and Oliver. She celebrated every milestone, every holiday, and every opportunity to bring her family together.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gino and Mary Nicolini, and her brother, John Nicolini. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Dina Nicolini, along with her many extended family members and dear friends.

Julia will be remembered for her unwavering love, generous heart, and the warmth she brought into every room. She had a remarkable way of making those around her feel loved and valued. Her kindness, strength, and devotion to her family created a legacy that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the traditions she established, and the unconditional love she gave will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

“Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard”
