Samuel L. Bonafede, 86, of Huntley, died peacefully August 3, 2026 at his home with his family by his side.
Samuel was born February 11, 1940 in Chicago, the son of Anthony and Catherine (Spiliopoulos) Bonafede. He served in the United States Army. He married Judith C. Pawlik on October 5, 1963. He worked at UIC in the steam plant until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Bonafede, his children, Sandra (Jon) Mussato and Peter (Sherri) Bonafede and by his grandchildren, Kyle (Tori) Mussato, Bryan Mussato, Samantha Bonafede and Olivia Bonafede and by his sister, Bettye Gabriel.
Samuel was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike and Tony.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 12, from 9am to 10AM with at 10am Mass all at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers please consider having Masses said in his name.
