Massimiliano “Max” Taldone, 88, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Massimiliano was born on November 5, 1937, in Bitritto, Bari, Italy, the son of Costantino and Maria (DePalma) Taldone. On September 5, 1964, he married the love of his life, Antonia Lagattolla, with whom he shared nearly 62 years of marriage.
Max was a hardworking man and a devoted provider who dedicated his life to caring for those he loved. Faith and family were the guiding principles of his life. He found great joy in gardening and was well known among family and friends for his homemade wine—a tradition he took great pride in sharing with those around him.
Above all, Max treasured his family. His greatest happiness came from time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, Nonno, and Bisnonno whose strength, faith, and love for his family will live on through the generations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Max is survived by his beloved wife, Antonia Taldone; his daughters, Maria Hernandez, Joann (Angelo) Ruggiero, and Tina (Michael) Kenders; his grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle) Lednik, Jennifer Schwabauer, Nicole (Dan) Kakaley, Gabriella (Brian) Appel, Nicholas Ruggiero, Anthony Hernandez, Massimiliano Eberle, Rhianna (Joseph) Lanute, Veronica (Ryan) Differding, Vincent Ruggiero, and McKenna Kenders; and his great-grandchildren, Chelesa, Lennon, Cedar, Ashton, Ophelia, Zadie, Isabella, Camryn, Collins, and Elliette, with two more great-grandchildren on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Costantino and Maria Taldone, and his brothers, Donato and Dominico.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
Max leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, hard work, and love. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of his family and all those whose lives he touched.

My deepest condolences to my lovely Aunt & Cousins for this big loss. I feel so much sadness in my heart for the loss of our beloved uncle "Tio Massimo" that I can hardly express myself. He was our last uncle left from my Taldone's Family, it has been so many years since I last saw him due to this distance from Venezuela & I was hoping to see him some day again in the future, but he left us sooner. He was like another Dad to my sister Claudia & I all the time & I will carry that in my heart always since he never made differences between our cousins & us, instead, he treated the 5 of us the same way. I Will be always thankful to you & my Zia Antonietta for all the love you gave & will always be giving us.. for helping us learn English & helping with school's homework... ... He was a happy, kind & lovely man, always joking around.... And making Christmas' time so fun & special sharing the greatest time all together as a family. I will always keep you in my mind, heart & soul.. Rest in Peace my dear uncle.
My condolences 💐 to your family! I was honored to be their Flower Girl at their wedding. He was a wonderful man and will be missed. Sending love ❤️ to my cousins.
