Rosemary Elizabeth “Rose” Bolding, 30, of DeKalb and formerly of Sleepy Hollow, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on August 19,2026 in Grundy county IL.
Rose was born March 17, 1996, the beloved daughter of Neil and Carol (Fleck) Bolding. She graduated from Dundee-Crown High School and went on to train as an EMT, a calling that perfectly reflected who Rose was at heart. Caring for and helping others was not simply her profession—it was an important part of her life and the person she was. In the summer of 2016 she travelled to Arusha in Tanzania to help at the Seeway Nursery. Working at the school was a life affirming experience. Rose was in touch with them to this day offering support.
Rose was strong, passionate, and a beautiful free spirit with a great sense of humor. She lived with intensity, loved fiercely, and gave generously of herself to others. Through her work as an EMT, her friendships, and the many connections she made throughout her life, Rose touched more lives than she could have ever known. Her coworkers and friends held a special place in her heart, and the impact she made on those around her will not be forgotten.
Above all, Rose was a devoted daughter and a loving dog mom to her pride and joy, Orange. The bond they shared brought her tremendous happiness. Rose's beautiful spirit, compassionate heart, and fierce love for those she cared about will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is free from struggles, pains and worries. Rose is soaring and flying free.
Rose is survived by her parents, Neil and Carol Bolding; her English family, including her grandmother, Patricia Bolding; her aunt, Jacqueline (John) Shields, and their children, Bethany and Eleanor; her US family, aunts and uncles Linda (Augie) DePasquale and Julie (Rich) Heidank; and her cousins, Michelle, John (Maggie), Ryan (Erica), Laura and Carter.
Rose’s identity also included her biological siblings Breanne Lee, Gairet Lee (Taylor Brown) and Eric Lee. Jeff Rothman (Ashley) and Erica Lopez (Ross) and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Virginia Fleck and by her friends, Emily and Eric.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a service at the conclusion of the visitation all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Rose’s passing. She was truly such a bright light in this world. I had the privilege of watching her journey through so many different phases of life, and through it all, she remained someone who gave so much of herself to the people around her, often putting the needs of others before her own. Rose was incredibly selfless and cared so deeply and fiercely for everyone she loved. She spoke so highly of the life you provided her, and it was clear just how much love she had for her family and friends. She accomplished so much throughout her life and made the world a better place simply by being in it. Her kindness, compassion, and love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She truly left a lasting impact on this world and on everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Wishing you and your family grace, peace, and healing during this incredibly difficult time.
