Peter Michael Albanese Sr, age 85, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 28, 2026. He was born on October 15, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Josephine Albanese(Damico).
Peter, known as Papa by most of his family, is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia(Amore); his children, Joseph (Lisa) Albanese, Michael (Mari) Albanese, and Peter Jr (Christa) Albanese; his grandchildren, Alexandra (Erick), Arianna (Michael), Nick, Alecia, AJ (Lauren), Christopher, and Samantha; and his great-grandchildren, Avellina, Keira, Vincenzo, and Charlie.
Peter served 33 years as a police officer with the Chicago Police Department and belonged to the FOP. He enjoyed a long retirement to the fullest, traveling with family and friends across the country and internationally on cruises. He of course had several memorable visits to Disney World, a nod to his love of Mickey Mouse.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am on Friday, September 4, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Tunnel to Towers Foundation https://t2t.org/
