
Sharon Relich, age 76, of Algonquin, IL, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 1, 2026 at her home. She was born in Chicago on May 15, 1950, the daughter of Gus and Adeline (Novak) Laskowski.
Sharon married the love of her life, Dan “Mike” Relich on June 26, 1971 in Chicago and they spent 55 years happily married. Together they had two daughters, Christina and Lori.
Sharon spent her career as a High School Math Teacher for Chicago Public Schools before her retirement. She was a cancer survivor and a loving wife, mom, and grandma. There was nothing more in the world that she wanted to be other than a grandma. She enjoyed boating and camping. Sharon and Dan were members of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Dan; daughters, Christina (Chris) Vandercook and Lori (Fred) Marshall; grandchildren, Kennedy and Parker Vandercook and Carly and Maddie Marshall; sister, Karen (the late Don) DeVriendt; niece, Kimberly (Tony) Sineni; and great niece and nephew, Katelyn Switzer and Daniel Sineni.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 7, 2026 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A second visitation will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 9am until the Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Entombment will be at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery in Niles with a committal service at the Maryhill Cemetery Chapel.
