Carrie Louise Dabelow, age 63, of Streamwood, IL passed away on September 16, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Columbus, OH on June 28, 1963, the daughter of Herbert and Alice (Vernstrom) Dabelow.
After completing her bachelor degree at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN she continued her education at Roosevelt University where she obtained her Master’s degree. Carrie was a career long middle school teacher who taught theater, speech, and social studies, most recently at Franklin Middle School in Wheaton.
Carrie’s passion for the theater went beyond her love for teaching and she was involved in community theater. She loved to sing, act, or make costumes.
Carrie’s family meant the world to her. Each day on her ride home from work she would talk to her sister to catch up. The person she adored most was her niece Jordan who lovingly called her ‘Auntie Kookie.’ Carrie had the uncanny ability to create and maintain friendships.
A memorial visitation will occur on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10am until the time of service at 11am at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main Street, Huntley.
