James “Jim” F. Autowski, age 79, of Huntley, passed away on September 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.
Jim married Bonnie Budweg on September 24, 1993 in Bartlett. Jim and Bonnie moved a few times before settling in Huntley. He was a member of Huntley Seniors and participated in all of the Sun City neighborhood activities. Jim enjoyed spending time in his yard, ensuring it was greener than any other, birdwatching, watching old westerns, jigsaw puzzles, and word searches.
Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie; children, James (Brooke) Jr., and Brenda Westbrook; Grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Myles, Kristell Parks, Caden, Zoe, and Abby; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Emalyn, Carter, Kormac, Lyzabella, Kian, Caysen, Kennedy, and Jaxson.
He is preceded by his parents; sister, Cecilia Lisiecki; and brother, Raymond Autowski.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 3pm-6pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Jim was a very visible figure in our neighborhood. Always working on his yard, putting up holiday decorations and walking Princess hand in hand with his wife Bonnie. His love for his wife was ever present. Where she was, he was. He always had a smile, gave a compliment or brought a chuckle or two whenever you'd see him. He will be greatly missed.
Bonnie I am so sorry about Jim. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. He was very quiet, but his smile said a lot. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He got his wings and will be watching over you. Rest in peace Jim.
Jim was a good friend. When he walked his dog, Princess, he would visit me so I could pet her. He and Bonnie were always ready to help me when I needed them. We will miss you, Jim.
