To Marion and Family I didn't know Pete that well ,but he was a helpful guide in my transplant education .He knew of the pain of dialysis and joy of getting the gift of a healthy kidney.A life continued not only his gift ,but a gift to his family and friends to further enjoy his presence. Now we recall the man ,not his illness.Smile, cause that's how would want to see you.Through my brother-in law Bud Varisco ,I got to know him as a man who always had a smile, inspite of his health difficulties and he was always more than willing to share a joke. That is the way I will remember him ,the big guy with a firm handshake and a smile. John
So sorry to see you go. Coming back to Illinois after being gone for 35 years , we were just starting to catch up on the old days. Cousin you fought a good fight and you will be truly missed. But you are at peace and out of pain in the House of the Lord with family and friends.
Pete, I'm really going to miss you and so will others. You had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. I always enjoyed exchanging the barbs you sent to me in your emails. I wish I had your "new" email address.
Dear Marion, So sorry to hear of Pete's passing. You and your family have my deepest sympathies. Cherish the memories. I am one who believes you will see him again some day. Stay well.
Dear Marion, I am so sorry for your loss. Pete was a great guy and I always thought you made such a sweet couple back in high school. Obviously I was right. Take care of yourself.
I am deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Pete, he was a childhood friend at Smyser Elementary School and Steinmetz HS. It seems like just a short time ago that we saw each other at the Steinmetz HS 50th year class reunion. Please accept my deepest sorrow and condolences, I know he will be sorely missed.
Dear Marion, I was truly stunned and saddened to learn of Pete’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Though we were teammates for a mere three years at Steinmetz, the subsequent miles never diminished the friendship; we were life long teammates for the last 55 years. No Chicago trip; no reunion; no casual dinner will be the same without his friendly grin and heartfelt greeting. We share in your profound sense of loss, knowing that it is but a brief time until we all meet again.
