Arthur Edward Andres, Jr., born May 18, 1945, in Newburgh, New York, to Arthur Sr. and Barbara (Fitzgerald) Andres, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Arthur’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his beloved wife, Constance “Connie.” Their story began when Arthur was just 17 years old, after a friend set the two up on a blind date in Kentucky. That date marked the beginning of a beautiful life together. Arthur and Connie recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, a testament to the love and devotion they shared throughout the years. Arthur was Connie’s rock, always by her side with a steady and loving presence.
Together, Arthur and Connie raised their three children, Paul, Michael, and Aimee. Nothing was more important to Arthur than spending time with those he loved. He found happiness in life’s simple moments—sitting on the patio with his family, appreciating nature, and enjoying peaceful walks with his dogs.
Arthur had a long and dedicated career, working for JCPenney for 20 years before beginning a new chapter as an administrator at Elgin Community College, where he worked for 19 years.
His faith was an important part of his life, and Arthur had a deep love for his church. In his quiet time, he was an avid reader who especially enjoyed mystery books. He appreciated the comfort of home, the beauty of the outdoors, and, above all, the company of his family.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife, Connie; his children, Paul (Zoe Ann) Andres, Michael (Elsa) Andres, and Aimee (Patrick) Conley; his grandchildren, Corina Huber, Avery Andres, Braden Andres, and Cameron Andres; his brother, Charles Andres; and his sisters, Nancy Arnold, Gretchen Greenberg, Elizabeth Miner, and Mary Barbara Andres.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr. and Barbara Andres.
Arthur will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strong faith, and the steady presence he provided to those he loved. His family will especially cherish the ordinary moments that meant so much—the time spent together, walks with the dogs, conversations on the patio, and simply enjoying life side by side.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

Very sorry for your loss
I'm sad to read of this. I enjoyed some conversations with him when we were both at Elgin Community College, especially when we both worked in the Bookstore. I understand the loss of a parent and send virtual hugs.
I have nothing but fond memories of Art from ECC. He was a wonderful, thoughtful, and kind person. You have much to be proud of.
Sincere Condolences to all of Arthur’s family.
We appreciated the warmth, joy and love to everyone she shared time and space with. Ah, we were the lucky ones, definitely the 🍀 lucky ones.
