William “Bill” Zieske, age 55, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2026, at Crescent Care Nursing Home in Elgin, IL, surrounded by the family and caregivers who loved him fiercely, following years of fighting battles with numerous illnesses.
Born on June 7th, 1971, to Joseph and Elizabeth Zieske in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Bill came into this world with a unique purpose. Though he faced the lifelong challenges of special needs, he possessed an extraordinary gift for teaching those around him about patience, unconditional love, and the pure beauty of simple joys.
While Bill never held a traditional job, he worked at AID in South Elgin in their workshop program for many years. He also worked daily at bringing happiness to everyone he met. He was a passionate, lifelong sports fan who dedicated his days to cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He also followed three college teams—the ISU Redbirds, the Missouri Tigers, and the Toledo Rockets—and could usually be found wearing their gear. Bill had a deep love for motorcycles and bikers, finding endless joy in anything and everything related to Harley-Davidson. One of his greatest passions was imitating Elvis and entertaining people with his rendition of "Love Me Tender." Whether he was wearing his favorite team gear, admiring motorcycles, or sharing a laugh with those around him, Bill had an unfiltered spirit that was entirely untouched by the anxieties of the world.
His life was a beautiful testament to the fact that a person's worth is not measured by wealth or titles, but by the love and smiles they leave behind.
Bill is survived by his devoted family members who spent decades ensuring his life was safe, comfortable, and full of laughter: his father, Joseph Zieske; his sister, Dawn (Dave Prose) Rau of Shelbyville, IL; nephews Corey (Tori) Rau, Jeffrey (Emily) Rau, Brandon (Denise Rodriguez) Rau, and Brett (Kennedy) Rau; great nephews Traeger Rau and Ryden Rau; and great nieces Raelyn Rau and Sunny Rau. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth “Bette” Zieske.
