Shane Shannon, 52, of Naperville, died October 9, 2026.
Shane was born November 3, 1973, in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Kent and Janet (Murfield) Shannon. He attended Lake Park High School and later Illinois State University. Shane enjoyed a successful 22-year career with Empire Carpet Company, where his dedication, hard work, and natural ability to connect with people earned him recognition as the company's top producer.
Shane had a larger-than-life personality, a wonderful smile, and a magnetic charm that naturally drew people to him. He was a true foodie, an amazing cook, and a master of the grill. He especially loved preparing meals for family gatherings and holidays, where his famous beef tenderloin was always a favorite. Shane was also an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed sharing his passion for sports with those around him.
Above all, Shane's greatest pride and joy were his children. He treasured the time he spent with them and was immensely proud of each of them. Shane had a way of making people feel welcome, and his warmth, humor, and unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a devoted father, loving son, brother, companion, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Shane is survived by his mother, Janet Lueck; his beloved children, McKenzie, Kylee, and Sean Shannon; his siblings, Kelly Shannon, Aubrey Lueck, Lisa Shannon, Bradford Shannon, and Ryan Shannon; his significant other and love of his life, Marisol, and her daughter, Gabriella; his stepmother, Patti Shannon; and his nieces and nephews, Felicity, Aiden, Jaxson, Reilly, Sam, Lily, and Shea.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kent Shannon, and his stepfather, Paul Lueck.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois.
