Janet K. Jones, 67, of Hampshire, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, with her beloved boys by her side.
Janet was born September 13, 1959, the daughter of William and Lorraine Garcia. On May 19, 1984, she married the love of her life, Steven Michael Jones. Together they built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and the joy of being together.
Janet was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest happiness came from caring for those she loved. She was kind, gentle, sweet, and had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved and welcome. Janet especially cherished the holidays and poured her heart into every detail of preparing and celebrating with her family. She loved the traditions, the gatherings, and most of all, the precious time spent together.
Janet had a beautiful spirit and a warmth that could light up a room simply by walking into it. Her love for her family was endless, and the memories she created will forever be treasured. She was a loving mother, proud grandmother, devoted sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janet is survived by her beloved sons, Steve (Chrissy) Jones and Michael (Alyssa) Jones; her cherished grandchildren, Addison and Wesley; her siblings, Don (Rhonda) Garcia, Carol Garcia, Marguerite (Rich) Papenbrok, and Annette (Ray) Puckett; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Steve Jones; and her brother, William Garcia.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hampshire Cemetery.
